Vista Alegre

Born in a period of revolutions, Vista Alegre is a dream come true of a typical modern XIXth century man, Jose Ferreira Pinto Basto.

The patent authorising the operation of the Vista Alegre Factory was granted in 1824 by D. Joao VI, benefiting of ''all graces, privileges and exceptions enjoyed, or to be enjoyed in the future, by the National Factories''. Then, just five years later, Vista Alegre was granted the title of Royal Factory, to honour its art and industrial success.

By the 70's of the XXth century, Fabrica de Porcelana de Vista legre took important measures to update its technological segment and enhanced the formation of new young painters.

Deli Delux

Opened in April 2005, DeliDelux is the first deli in the capital to combine a large, well-lit gourmet shop with a cafeteria and an outside esplanade. Located in the Cais da Pedra, by the river Tagus, an area where some of the city's trendiest places such as Lux club and Bica do Sapato restaurant congregate, it caters to a market segment that had so far been overlooked in Lisbon: a space where you can explore new gastronomical trends and tease your taste buds with a selection of some of Portugal and the world's finest products.

DeliDelux has everything to cater to the needs of even the most demanding of gourmets: mushrooms and truffles, olive oils and vinegars, pastas and selected sauces and gravies, pates and foie gras, teas and coffees, cookies and chocolates, jellies, jams and preserves, cured hams and specialty stuffed sausages, cheeses, caviar and smoked fish, vegetables, fruits, aromatic herbs, spices and flowers. The store also carries a wide selection of exquisite national and international wines and champagnes.

The store is located at the site of an old, empty harbor warehouse. Extensive recuperation work by architect Joao Regal and designer Filipe Alarcao, gave the space an added neutral, contemporary twist that takes a step back and allows the products on display to be the real stars of the company, while retaining the areas surrounding features.
The cafeteria, facing river Tagus, is complemented by a wide yet intimate and quiet esplanade where you can enjoy menu delicacies, prepared only with products you can find in the store. DeliDelux menu includes salads and sandwiches, cheese and charcuterie platters, homemade desserts and selected wines by the glass. On Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 am to 16:00 pm, the cafeteria also serves two types of brunch (Brunch Delight and Brunch Delux).

At DeliDelux, all details matter. Thats why trained assistants, in both the store and the cafeteria will offer special advice to help you select exactly what you are looking for and make DeliDelux the only place to go to when shopping gourmet.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday from 12am to 10pm; Saturday from 10am to 10pm.

Olá! Welcome to Lisbon!

Lisbon hotels team

Meet Virginie and the team from Saga Travel - we are your local connection in Lisbon! We feel the best part about our jobs is getting to know people from all around the world; as well as experiencing different cultures and new ways of living and thinking! We love Lisbon, with its location on the Tagus River and Atlantic Ocean, the great food and wine, and most importantly - the friendly Lisboetas people. We enjoy seeing the striking colours of Lisbon when the sun is shining (which happens very often, even during winter).
