There is no doubt that it will be a great show and that the organization is aware of the sustainable aspect of the show launching a challenge at Portuguese schools.
The term "Rock in Rio for a Better World" was created in the third edition of the event. The year was 2001 and the Rock in Rio was in Rio de Janeiro.
Roberto Medina, supported the results of the first two issues and aware of the potential communication of the event, saw in it a great opportunity to mobilize people and help build a better world. The main purpose of the 2001 edition was the social role. Using music as a universal language, Roberto Medina enabled part of all the revenue from the "Rock in Rio for a Better World" to be donated to social projects. Thanks to its initiative, thousands of young people from slums and poor communities in Rio de Janeiro have been deeply touched by the project which allowed them to complete their studies.
