The itinerary of this 8th festival includes three prestigious contests: The International Chocolate Recipe Contest, Portuguese Chocolatier of The Year and Chocolate Window Display Contest, with the participation of both professional and amateur confectioners. For the general public, the Sculpture Exhibit is one of the festival's main highlights, featuring art works in chocolate created by specialist sweet and chocolate making chefs.
Dedicated to the Wonders of the World, the sculptures have the following themes: the Coliseum, the Great Wall of China, Chichen Itza, the Taj Mahal, Petra and the Portuguese city of Guimarães. Visitors can also take part in chocolate making course and chocolate therapy sessions.
With the younger ones in mind, the Children's Chocolate House offers kids varied activities such as games, face painting, workshop on the history of chocolate and at the end, with the help of a chef, the chance to make some chocolate recipes.
March 4 to 14, Monday to Friday, 3pm to 11pm, Saturday from 10am to 11pm; Sundays 10am to 8pm around various locations in the town of Óbidos.
