The Human Habitat 2010 Lecture Series is an open platform on the theme of Sustainable Cities, engaging a wide audience that includes specialists and lay people.This lecture series includes 10 evening lectures designed and coordinated by the Sustainable Construction Initiative in partnership with Oceanário de Lisboa and Parque Expo.
The lectures will focus on our human habitat and on learning a common language that will help us share and embrace our responsibilities to contribute to sustainable development.
The invited speakers of Human Habitat 2010 will present their powerful and holistic visions on sustainable urban development, including the dimensions of social equity, economic prosperity and environmental balance and longevity, while questioning those current cultural values and economical growth patterns, which are, in many ways, conditioning our present and future well-being. They will also present their views on the way forward empowering citizens, in their capacity as decision makers, to promote better performing cities.
These views will be amply discussed with the audience.
Lectures are open to the general public, are free of charge and will take place in various auditoria of Parque das Nações, Lisbon.
