The Solar do Castelo Inn offers a unique historical experience. The hotel is situated on the site of the St. George Castle Hill, where the kitchens of the first Royal Palace stood in the ancient days.This site has a history dating back eight centuries. King Dom Sebasti also lived here for some time. In 1755, the City of Lisbon was devastated by the Great Earthquake and in the late eighteenth century, a mansion was built on the site of the former Palace kitchens, which is why it is still known as the Palacete das Cozinhas (Kitchen Mansion).

We are committed to preserving and protecting this historically and culturally important place and its contents, which are of great importance to the people of Lisbon. Visitors get to stay in the erstwhile mansion, which is classified as a Historic Building, and truly experience Lisbon's history from a unique perspective.
